What Does 20% Front Window Tint Look Like on a 2023–2027 Nissan Frontier?
See how 20% standard tint looks on the two front windows of a real 2024 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab and how closely it matches the factory rear glass.

Quick Answer: Does 20% Front Tint Match a Nissan Frontier’s Factory Rear Glass?
On a Nissan Frontier, 20% tint gives the two front doors a dark appearance that matches the factory-tinted rear glass closely. It completes the side profile of the truck without making the front windows completely private. During the day, you can still see a silhouette inside the front cabin depending on the viewing angle, cloud cover, and direction of the light.
This example is a 2024 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab. The information applies to the 2023 Nissan Frontier, 2024 Nissan Frontier, 2025 Nissan Frontier, 2026 Nissan Frontier, and 2027 Nissan Frontier when the vehicle has a similar Crew Cab glass configuration and factory-tinted rear windows.
What We Installed on This 2024 Nissan Frontier

For this installation, we applied 20% standard window film to the two front doors. The rear doors and rear glass already had factory privacy glass, so no film was added to those windows for this particular match.
The customer wanted the front windows to blend with the rear factory glass. Choosing something lighter would have left a more noticeable difference between the front and rear of the cab. The customer also wanted more privacy and a darker appearance, making 20% the best fit for the look he wanted.
This Frontier also received 35% standard film across the entire windshield. See the exterior appearance and driver’s view in our 2023–2027 Nissan Frontier 35% windshield tint installation.
How Closely Does 20% Match the Factory Rear Glass?

Based on the completed installation, 20% standard film matched the factory-tinted rear windows pretty closely. It may not meter at exactly the same final percentage because factory privacy glass and aftermarket window film are different products, but visually, the transition between the front and rear windows looked even.
Lighting always affects the appearance. Reflections from a cloudy sky can make the windows appear darker, while direct light entering from the opposite side can make the cabin more visible. The interior color and the amount of light entering through the windshield also influence how dark 20% appears from outside.
Can You See Inside a Nissan Frontier With 20% Front Tint?
Yes. During daylight, you can still see into the front cabin through 20% tint. What you normally see is more of a silhouette than a clear view of every interior detail. The amount you can see depends on your angle and how sunlight passes through the other windows.

Twenty percent provides more privacy than a light shade such as 35%, but it does not create the strong privacy associated with 5% tint. Customers who want the front windows to look dark while maintaining more manageable visibility often consider 20% a middle-ground choice.
Is 20% Front Window Tint Good for Driving at Night?
I would recommend 20% on the front doors of a Nissan Frontier for everyday driving when the driver understands that any dark film reduces available light.
In well-lit areas, seeing through 20% is generally manageable. On darker streets or while parking in a poorly lit area, visibility through the side windows can become more challenging. Some drivers may need additional time to become comfortable with it, but it is not as extreme as 5% or other darker combinations.

Drivers who regularly travel on dark rural roads, have existing nighttime vision difficulties, or have never owned a tinted vehicle should consider whether a lighter percentage would be more comfortable.
Does 20% Front Tint Complete the Look of the Nissan Frontier?
Yes. Frontiers with clear front windows and dark factory rear glass can look unfinished from the side. Adding 20% to the two front doors gives the Crew Cab a more consistent appearance from front to back while complementing the truck’s dark trim and wheels.
After more than 20 years in automotive window tinting and more than 30,000 completed vehicles, this is a combination I regularly recommend when a truck owner wants the front doors to match factory privacy glass as closely as practical.
