The photographs were taken under cloudy conditions before rain. From outside, the driver was not clearly identifiable through the front windows; the light tan interior remained visible primarily as an indistinct silhouette.

This actual customer installation included:

The F-Pace does not have additional fixed glass beside the two front roll-down windows, so this service covered only those two pieces.

The customer wanted the two front windows to match the factory percentage in the rear. Heat rejection was not one of his priorities.

He selected standard film because it was the least expensive available option that still included warranty coverage. It provided the 20% shade needed for the visual match without requiring him to pay for the additional solar performance offered by carbon or ceramic.

Carbon or ceramic would have cost more without providing a meaningful advantage for his appearance-focused goal.

The 20% standard film matched the factory rear glass very closely. It removed the obvious contrast normally seen between clear front windows and darker factory privacy glass.

Factory rear glass and aftermarket film are made differently, so an exact tint-meter match is not guaranteed. The rear section contains color within the glass, while the two front windows combine their original glass with applied film.

Their visual appearance can also change according to:

• Available daylight
• Cloud cover
• Reflections
• Viewing angle
• Light entering through the windshield
• Interior color

Under the cloudy conditions shown in these photographs, the front and rear windows flowed together evenly across both sides of the F-Pace.

The cloudy sky reduced the amount of direct sunlight entering the Jaguar, which made the windows appear darker than they might under bright, direct sunlight. The wet, overcast conditions also created softer reflections across the side glass.

Rain did not prevent the installation from being completed. Automotive window film is installed on the interior surface of the glass, so normal rain outside does not directly interfere with the film.

The front windows produced a silhouette appearance under the photographed conditions. Someone standing outside could tell that an occupant was inside, but the driver was not clearly identifiable through the side glass.

The light tan interior allowed some interior shapes to remain visible. A black interior would generally absorb more available light and make the same percentage appear darker.

Looking through the untreated windshield could make the driver easier to identify because the windshield allows more light into the front cabin. Distance, reflections, and viewing angle also affect how much someone can see.

How long does it take to tint the two front windows?
A typical two-front installation takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Existing film, adhesive, or unusual glass conditions can increase the required time.

Is the window film installed inside or outside?
Automotive window film is installed on the interior surface of the glass. The exterior is used during preparation and pattern fitting but does not hold the finished film.

How long should the windows remain closed afterward?
Keep the two tinted windows rolled up for at least 24 hours after installation. Lowering them too soon could damage the film before it has properly bonded to the glass.

Is temporary haze normal after installation?
Yes. Light haze, moisture pockets, or small water bubbles can be visible while the film dries. These should gradually disappear during the normal curing process.

The Camden customer loved the finished F-Pace and said the two front windows looked exactly how he wanted. The 20% film completed the side profile by removing the contrast between the previously clear front doors and factory-tinted rear glass.
